Wobbly Circus

Festival favourites The Wobbly Circus are back again this year. The show is a unique circus performance that will delight audiences of all ages. The show combines slapstick comedy and clowning with a high level of circus skills.

Walk Waterford with Jim Doherty

Meet at Reginald’s Tower 6pm

Join well known local historian Jim Doherty for an evening stroll that will take you through centuries of fascinating Waterford history.

Inspired by Irish carvings and spiralling Celtic designs like the ones found at the ancient heritage site of Newgrange and in the Book of Kells – we invite you to explore copper wire and simple jewellery making techniques. Create a famous Celtic knot that can be worn for St. Patrick’s Weekend or used as a beautiful bookmark. No cover charge but booking is essential!

Little Irish Folklore Friends

The Book Centre 12.30pm and 2pm

Little Irish Folklore Friends is about six creatures from Irish folklore, all using their powers in unexpected ways. Join Liam the Leprechaun, Betty the Banshee, Pádraig the Púca, Willow the Wisp, Fiadh the Fairy and Seán the Selkie for lots of magic and giggles. Suitable for ages 3-6 (must be accompanied by an adult).

Knockadollys

John Robert’s Sq 2pm

If you missed them on Saturday the Knockadollys are here again on Sunday. Perfect for anyone who loves to dance, sing, and celebrate the spirit of Irish heritage with some modern flair!

The Booley House

2pm Applemarket Stage

With some of the finest traditional Irish musicians The Booley House perform an enthralling range of original step dancing routines. A firm festival favourite for years, there is no better Irish variety act than the gang from West Waterford.

Urban Greenway Self-Guided Tour

As a ‘city of light’ Waterford offers a unique experience to view historical monuments and city walls illuminated in green. Take a nighttime tour of the ‘urban greenway’ and discover the history behind some of Waterford’s most famous landmarks.

Drumming Workshop

The Legend of Queen Medb

Medieval Museum Undercroft 1pm & 4pm
Performed by Derek Flynn and Hayley Crosbie this is a thrilling retelling of the legend of Medb bringing the warrior queen to life through drama and music. 

WAMA

2pm – O’Connell St. Cultural Quarter

Four hours of entertainment from Waterford Academy of Music and Arts. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Monticelli

7pm – Applemarket

Monticelli is a Brazilian Classic Rock band founded in 2014 by 3 brothers. Their repertoire consists of the greatest hits in the history of Rock n Roll, performed in a solid and energetic way, which makes the show an unforgettable artistic experience.

Damn Dirty Apes

8pm O’Connell St. Cultural Quarter.

The four piece power house Damn Dirty Apes bring rock to the masses! From the Beatles to Bowie, Oasis to Blur we got you covered. All generations rock!

Spancill Jills

Time: 9pm – Applemarket

Spancil Jills are an energetic 6 pc Waterford band. Blending the sounds and instrumentation of traditional Irish music with alternative rock and punk to create an infectious and toe tapping landscape of music.

City Centre Fairground

A range of fairground attractions and amusements will be situated in the city centre for the duration of the festival and if you’re hungry you can get a taste of Waterford and try some authentic local produce from a wide range of food stalls in John Robert’s Square. Get your face painted or have some fun with Ready Steady Play.

The festival runs for four fun-filled days, typically starting before St. Patrick's Day. 

Events and activities generally run throughout the day and into the evening.

  • Day 1 (Friday): Events usually kick off in the evening, with walking tours and ticketed performances starting around 6:30 pm and live music continuing late.
  • Day 2 & 3 (Saturday & Sunday): Daytime activities, workshops, and markets often start around 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Live music and street performances continue through the afternoon and into the evening.

Day 4 (Monday – St. Patrick's Day): The main St. Patrick's Day Parade starts at 1:00 pm sharp. Daytime workshops and the city fairground typically begin around 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
